Environmental Litigation
Environmental successes at Alterman & Boop LLP has included the stopping of the wholesale renovation of Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, New York; removing nonconforming uses from the Hudson River Park from 59th Street to Chambers Street, a five (5) mile stretch of open parkland on the Hudson River; working with legislators to create an efficient means of removing commercial and residential garbage from Manhattan; and working with groups to develop alternate power sources to save energy and benefit the environment.
Landlord and Tenant Litigation/ Real Estate Litigation
Our Landlord and Tenant litigation successes have involved preventing the eviction of neighborhood restaurants and cultural institutions like Le Madeleine Restaurant in Hells Kitchen, the Independence Plaza Tenants and other tenant organizations around the City of New York. We also represent the tenants of Carnegie Hall in a fight to stop the Carnegie Hall Corporation from evicting them.
